If 2-4 people have a similar problem (maybe writing critical response essays?), it is possible to combine with a few others to gain strength in a different way than one would get one-on-one. There are benefits to one-on-one tutoring, and there are different benefits to small-group tutoring. There are things we can do together where each person participates and learns from the other. In addition, the cost is less.

In a way, this becomes like a small classroom where the benefits can almost equal individual tutoring, with the added opportunity to be part of a learning community. This is perfect for those who see the value of a community of learners, in sharing and asking questions, in thinking and participating and engaging with others. Personal and emotional safety is paramount here – to offer it and to receive it.
