Have you written a book? Are you or your close friends the only ones who have read it? Before you send it to a publisher (or publish it yourself), you might want to consider a Beta Reader. Someone who could read what you’ve written and give you valuable feedback on the content and structure of your book. This is not editing as much as it is suggestions on what to work on for solid writing and improvement.

This format would be: after reading your piece, I would furnish a separate document of notes for you to consider and not alter the copy of your work at all.

I know this is your baby and you’ve worked long and dedicated hours on it. Nothing is perfect, but I would be gentle with your work and respect what you’ve done. Then, with my encouragement (and your decisions), your manuscript could be even more polished to present to a publisher or do it yourself. Readers are critical people; let me help you create something even more pleasurable for both of you!
